the
Medieval Stallholder
If you are a stallholder or
musician at a medieval tournament or faire, perhaps you require clothing
but do not wish for expensive, high-quality reproduction clothing and
lack the skill and enthusiasm to make them yourself.
You still need appropriate clothes which will look great, cost little,
are machine washable and are functional enough to work in for the duration
of the event.
This website addresses your specific needs and answers some of the most
common questions about what to wear as a stallholder at a medieval tournament,
fayre or festival and covers some of the common misconceptions about medieval
clothing, remembering that you are a craftsman or trademan at a marketplace
and NOT a noble going to a court banquet which would require entirely
different clothes altogether!
The information here is not aimed at historical researchers, re-enactors
or costumers. For those wishing to learn about accurate historical women's
clothing and more about medieval women, visit ROSALIE'S
MEDIEVAL WOMAN.
